Khallikote Unitary University (KUU) is a public state university located in Berhampur, Odisha, India. Established in 2021 after upgrading the historic Khallikote Autonomous College (founded in 1878), it is one of Odisha’s oldest centers for higher learning, offering diverse undergraduate and postgraduate programs in arts, science, commerce, and professional fields.

History and Establishment

The institution began as Union College in 1878, evolving through various stages before achieving autonomous status in 1990. In 2021, it was elevated to a unitary university under the Government of Odisha, recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The transformation aimed to modernize academic structures and expand research capacity while continuing its legacy as a leading regional education center .
