NIST University, located at Institute Park in Pallur Hills, Berhampur, Odisha, is a premier institution for higher education and research in engineering, science, and management. Established in 1996, it evolved from the National Institute of Science and Technology into a full-fledged university in 2024, recognized by the Government of Odisha.

Founded by Dr. Sukant K. Mohapatra and Ms. Sanjeeta Mohapatra under the SM Charitable Educational Trust, NIST began as Odisha’s first NRI-backed higher education venture. Its mission emphasizes academic excellence, research innovation, and global partnerships, nurturing students to become responsible global citizens.
