Rock Garden in Ambapua, Berhampur, is Odisha’s first landscaped rock-themed park and one of the city’s most popular recreation spots. Developed by the Brahmapur Development Authority (BeDA), it blends natural rocky terrain with creative sculptures, lush greenery, and modern attractions that make it both a leisure hub and a local landmark.

Design and Development

Built across nine acres on the outskirts of Berhampur, the garden was conceived as an urban beautification and tourism project. Construction began in 2020 after initial plans were announced in 2015, and it opened to the public in 2023 following its inauguration by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The design emphasizes stone pathways, artistic carvings, and scenic viewpoints amid landscaped greenery.

Attractions

Key features include the Mirror Maze, a light-filled illusion zone with an “ice age” theme, and the Cosmos Gallery, showcasing cosmic visuals. Evening visitors enjoy the “Lights of Joy” illumination show and well-lit sculptures. The park also offers a children’s play area, walking and cycling tracks, an open-air amphitheater, and a food plaza—making it ideal for both family outings and photography.
